Small Group Lesson:
Read John 6:26-29 "Jesus answered them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, you are seeking me, not because you saw signs, but because you ate your fill of the loaves. Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” Then they said to him, “What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answered them, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.”"
Some people seek Jesus for other benefits outside of a relationship with him. Q: What kinds of things do people come to Jesus in order to receive?

Read John 6:35 "Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.’"

In there sermon Jay said, “I don’t fully understand how Jesus satisfies souls, but I have experienced it over and over again. I think many Christians here don’t understand it, but have experienced it.” Q: Have you experienced Jesus being the bread of life that satisfies your soul in mysterious ways?
Read John 6:53-58, 60-61, 66 "So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven, not like the bread the fathers ate, and died. Whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.” … When many of his disciples heard it, they said, “This is a hard saying; who can listen to it?” But Jesus, knowing in himself that his disciples were grumbling about this, said to them, “Do you take offense at this? … After this many of his disciples turned back and no longer walked with him.”

Q: Are you offended or bothered by Jesus’ words in John 6 about eating his flesh and drinking his blood? Why? Why not?

Read John 6:44 "No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day."

Q: Looking back on your conversion, can you see how God was drawing you to himself?
